757-767 Panel 10-JUL-2004

Hello. I hope you will enjoy this complex yet nice Boeing 757/767 Panel.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Richards

*** Important ***

You should read Lonny Payne's 'aircraft config files.htm' in the Docs folder if you plan on using this panel for aircraft other than the iFDG 767. If using this panel with the POSKY 757 and the latest FDE available for it I think you will find that the N2 and the N1 engine indicators redline too easily. You should also read his 'Manual.htm' which has a few very minor known issues listed.

*** Important ***

In order to use this panel you need to install Lee Hetherington's TCAS II 7.0 gauge if you have not already done so. It's available in the Avsim library.
filname: ilh_tcas_v4.zip

Read Lee's 'Readme.htm' for instructions on how to install and use it.

I made a little guide on how to install the TCAS gauge into any aircraft panel if you would like to have it more of your aircrafts. If you use the guide you should know that the TCAS gauge will only be installed as pop-up window and not built into the panel as it is in this B757-767 panel. The filename in the Avsim library is: tcas_ii_7.0_installation_guide.zip

The TCAS gauge is controlled by clickspots(invisible knobs) in all four of it's corners. In order to turn it on you will need to right-click the 'upper left' click spot two times in order to get to TA mode or a third time to get to RA mode. You can also find controls for the TCAS II 7.0 on top of the Radio Stack. If you turn the Avionics switch off and on then you will see a bleed through on the TCAS controls that are on top of the Radio Stack. In order to get rid of the bleed through close the Radio Stack and reopen it.

Installation:

1) In WinZip select all the files in the embedded 'Gauges' folder. UnZip them your main 'Flight Simulator 9' folder with the 'Use folder names' option checked. If you are prompted to overwrite any existing files you are probably ok to click 'No'.

2) Select all the files contained in the embedded 'Panel' folder and unzip them to the folder of the aircraft you wish to install the panel into. If you are prompted to overwrite any existing files you should click 'Yes'.

This is a panel modification done by Jamie Blethyn for FS2004 with gauges mostly by Lonny Payne and bitmap by Kosa Dafoe with a few more minor modifications I made to it. It has not been uploaded to the Avsim library prior to this time.

I made the following modifications:

1) I put in Lonny Payne's MFD in place of the default Boeing 747 MFD and put the HSI/DH control pop-up for it into the 'panel.cfg' file. The pop-up can be accessed by clicking the on Simicon for it. Press Shift-2 to toggle the Simicon bar. There are a couple of non-fucntional DH knobs in the panel. I think the functional one is the invisible knob in the lower left corner of the ADI.

2) By request I added an Avionics Switch to the Overhead.

3) By request I put a Radar Altitude indicator in the spot that was previously blank just to the right of the ADI.

4) Added Lonny Payne's side views.

For your 757/767/777's I recommend the following sound set by Devyn Silverstein available in the Avsim library. Filename: sound_142751.zip

If you are starting up the engines from a cold and dark you must align the IRS in order to initialize Lonny Payne's MFD. To align the IRS go to the 'IRS MODE SEL' on the Overhead and turn the switch to 'NAV'. Then you must wait several seconds before you will see the MFD 'come alive'.

Also included is a panel config for the POSKY 757 with the Virtual Cockpit installed. That's the plane I use it in. ;-) Filename in the zip is 'POSKY 757 VC - panel.cfg'. To use this on your POSKY 757 with VC simply delete(or rename) the 'panel.cfg' file. Then rename 'POSKY 757 VC - panel.cfg' to --> 'panel.cfg'.

Cheers,

Jimmy Richards
